A man’s side of the #MeToo movement

Ok, I’m a man. Not only am I a man, but I’m a white man over  60, meaning I was raised during the 60s and 70s when most men were pretty much pigs when it came to dealing with and working with women. I’m also a straight man, meaning that I like women. I like to look at women, I like to talk with women, and I like to have sex with women (although for the last 35 years it’s only been with one particular woman).

Now, in the last couple of months there’s been a movement commonly referred to as the “#MeToo”  movement where women, and some men are reporting accusations about sexual harassment and assault by celebrities, members of the media organizations, and politicians. Let me right now go on the record as an over 60 white straight male state that it’s about damn time.

I’ll have to admit that at first I was very skeptical and apprehensive about this. Why are these women coming forward now? Why didn’t they report it? Why didn’t they fight back?
